TIME has unveiled an upgrade to its internet plans, announcing that its 600Mbps and 1Gbps packages now include Wi-Fi 7 routers as standard equipment. This new offering is available to new subscribers of these plans starting today. However, the 200Mbps and 2Gbps plans remain unchanged, continuing to provide Wi-Fi 6 routers. This move positions TIME as the first ISP to launch Wi-Fi 7 routers in Malaysia.
TIME’s new offering includes the Huawei HG8145B7N which is a Wi-Fi 7 certified BE3600 wireless router. It’s also an EasyMesh compatible router enabling seamless mesh wireless connectivity with other EasyMesh routers. Unfortunately, it’s still a dual-band router, notably lacking the high-speed 6GHz band. Perhaps TIME may be reserving the tri-band capability for their premium 2Gbps plan in future.
TIME claims that their new Wi-Fi 7 router offers faster Wi-Fi performance and able to connect more devices simultaneously for a more reliable connectivity. The brand new Wi-Fi 7 router from TIME offers 20% more Wi-Fi bandwidth than their previous Wi-Fi 6 AX3000 router. This aligns with our review of other Wi-Fi 7 routers, where we’ve noted measurable improvements in network latency.
According to TIME’s FAQ page, subscribers who have been with the company for 20 months or more are eligible to receive the new Wi-Fi 7 router when they upgrade to the 1Gbps plan. However, there’s no mention whether the users will receive a Wi-Fi 7 router if they opt for recontract under the same plan. Existing users will be able to purchase the router from the TIME Self Care portal.
Wi-Fi 7 Mesh Extenders
Meanwhile, the mesh extenders are upgraded to Wi-Fi 7 as well. Users on the 1Gbps plan will get a free Wi-Fi 7 mesh extender worths RM399. As for the 500Mbps plan or those who wish to get more units of th extender, the price starts from RM19/month for a single extnder. TIME is offering a bundle discount of RM35/month for 2 extenders and RM47/month for 3 units of extenders.
The newly offered Wi-Fi 7 router is an all-in-one fiber modem combo device. Those wishing to use their own wireless router can contact TIME’s support and request that the provided combo router be switched to bridge mode remotely. This configuration allows customers to utilize their own router, offering flexibility for users with specific networking preferences or requirements.

My Google TV unable to connect via WIFI to this Huawei router , but all other devices can. My TV somehow can connect via WIF easily to my other ASUS router. Anyone facing this same problem?
Seems like a compatibility of your Google TV with the ISP provided router. You might need to highlight it to TIME support.
