Just upgraded to 30MBPS Unifi
Is there a good single Modem-Router that can be used for Unifi?
You can’t replace the BTU unfortunately. You can only replace the router.
Hi bro … need your advise …. what is the best solution for streaming between powerfull wireless router n powerline extender ? whats pro n con …tq
It depends on what you are looking for. The Asus RT-AC3200 is great for wireless performance. Get any AV1200 powerline adapters and add some Wireless AC capable APs to extend the signal.
what is Wireless AC Aps capable? can u give me any link for reference.tq bro
Wireless AC is a new wireless technology which support faster wireless.
I just purchase a Nighthawk R7000 router from China TMall and I can’t make it works. The Internet connection is not able to obtain the IP from the modem. Appreciate if you can tell me any way to overcome this issues.
You need to setup VLAN tagging manually. Refer to this link.
I have just upgraded my Unifi package to Advance Plan 30Mbps with HyppTV Ruby Pack. I also do alot of internet surfing and work in my study room which is separated from the living area where my router is placed.
Please advise which Router should I go for.
Thanks
It depends on your budget. The Asus RT-AC55UHP is a good choice.
Thanks for your response.
What if budget is not a constraint?
I consider the Asus RT-AC3200 to be the best consumer router for Unifi currently. Check out our review of that router.
how about RT N12HP does it compatible with unifi?
Yes, it supports Unifi.
sorry, i like ask if the Unifi modem spoil, where can get it ? or any recommanded ? thanks
Those routers I mentioned are compatible with Unifi.
i’m using TL-WR1043ND. i advised u try not get this one.
after some time using it, the admin web access portal will become inaccessible, need to restart router.
At least it is better than the provided router. I will do a post on how to flash it to OpenWRT soon.
Hi blacktubi,
I recently bought TP-Link WR841HP v1. The device was working until I upgraded the firmware. I tried all three firmwares as listed in the website but still no connection to Unifi.
How do I setup with new firmware or how to revert back to original firmware from the box. thanx for the help
I guess you need to contact TP-LINK for the proper firmware upgrade or send your device for RMA.
i am currently using Tp-Link TL-WR1043ND V2. I’ve accidentally upgraded the firmware and it does not connect to my Unifi account. I tried disable Hardware NAT but seems does not change anything.
What do you mean by ‘you need to flash your device to the Malaysia firmware?
Get your firmware from here. http://www.tp-link.com.my/download/TL-WR1043ND_V2.html#Firmware
hi sifu..

need a good adviser salesman and best price.. thanks..
I recommend those bigger shop at Lowyat plaza. They display a lot of model.
Hi black may i know if dual band and single band what the different ya? And may i know are u selling router?
Dual band is useful at places where the 2.4Ghz band is congested. I don’t sell any device.
Sifu, can you recommend a good (budget mid-to-high) router for Unifi without Wifi?
Thank you Sifu
Without WiFi? Most high performance consumer router come with WiFi.
I like the Asus RT-AC55UHP, if your budget is higher, consider the AC68U.
Yeah sifu. Just a Unifi router, without AP function. Any recommendation?
The stock router is good enough, disable the wireless if you don’t need it. If you require Gigabit Ethernet ability, TP-LINK’s TL-WR1043ND is great.
TP-LINK’s TL-WR1043ND cannot run hypptv.. help..internet ok .
I’ve follow the setup procedure.
-Was able to connect to the internet via lan and wifi
-Unable to watch HyppTV. Seem to not establish the connection. But when change back to the default router (TRG212M), can watch normally.
-Everything on the status bar for HyppTV shouwing the show title and time bar, but just no screen image.
-IPTV port is at Lan1 as follow.
-Reset it few times still cannot.
Any settings i need to pay more attention?
If your model support hardware NAT, disable it.
No Netgear? I just setup nighthawk x6 and everything is working fine including the IPTV.
Thanks for the heads up. I just updated the post to include Netgear devices.
